I have always been a neutrals girl, but every now and then I like a little pop of color. I’ve had this palette for well over a year and I have to be honest: I bought it because it was on sale. I never thought I was going to like it, but because it was very affordable I decided to try it out and guess what??? I LOVE IT!! I never expected to gravitate towards a colorful palette so muchly! The palette comes in bright yellow packaging. On the back of the palette you can see the ingredients.
The palette itself is black, but shiny black. Some of the Makeup Revolution palettes are matte black, especially the Pro palettes, which are dupes for the Lorac Pro palettes. This palette is shiny black with gold writing on it. Sleek, sturdy and sophisticated.
INSIDE OF THE PALETTE:
The palette comes with a big mirror, that is the size of the palette itself. Unfortunately the lid of my palette won’t stay up on it’s own very well. So I have to place it just right or hold it up. The names of the shadows aren’t on the palette itself, but are on a plastic inlay. Those things always annoy the crap out of me. The palette also comes with a double ended sponge tip applicator.
As you can see, the palette is very very colorful. I thought colorful meant: not wearable, but boy was I wrong. These eyeshadows are so nice combined with other neutral eyeshadows in your collection as a nice pop of color. The palette is a really nice combination of shimmers, satins, glitter shades and mattes. Absolutely delightful.
CLOSE UP OF FIRST QUINT:
(Sorry that the photo’s aren’t 100% in focus. I discovered that later!).
The first quint is pink, purple, orange and a matte cream white. The orange on the left is matte with a little bit of shimmer. The bright pink in the middle is matte. The purple is a satin with a little bit of a blue duo chrome to it. The pink/ fuchsia shade at the bottom is a satin. The pigmentation is excellent!
CLOSE UP OF MIDDLE QUINT:
The middle part of the palette is a combination of green and silver. The top silver shade is a shimmery shade, the green on the left is a shimmer as well. The bright chartreuse color int he middle is matte! The dark green on the right is a shimmery shade with very finely milled glitters. The green shade at the bottom of the quint is a matte olive green, also with very finely milled glitters.
CLOSE UP OF THE THIRD QUINT:
The most right quint is a beautiful combination of blue, purple and silver. The top shade is a very shimmery silver shade. The royal blue on the left is a matte. The middle blue shade is more of a slate grey-blue which is a satin. The purple on the right is matte and the purple at the bottom is almost matte, but with a slight satin sheen to it.
SWATCHES OF THE FIRST PINK-ORANGE QUINT:
Don’t you just love these shades?? They are so gorgeous to add in with your look int he spring or summertime. The matte cream shade is really beautiful as a brow bone highlight. I used the matte orange, with micro glitters a lot last summer , directly above the crease to warm up the look. I really love these eyeshadows!
SWATCHES OF THE MIDDLE GREEN QUINT:
These shades I really love as well! The deeper green and the olive green are so beautiful for the fall time and the brighter greens are so much fun for the summertime. I love the pigmentation as well!!
SWATCHES THIRD BLUE PURPLE QUINT:
I really like these eyeshadows as well! The colors are so unique, especially for an affordable palette! I wore the silver on the lid and the purple in the crease for New years and it looked absolutely fantastic.
All the shadows are nicely pigmented. There is a bit of fallout with some of them, but not terribly much. I really like these eyeshadows to combine with my neutrals. I do not combine these shadows together. That’s too much brightness for me, but if you like bright colorful looks, you could use more shadows from this palette. I love the unique combination of shades, especially the mattes and I love the quality! The quality of these eyeshadows blew me away. You can definitely use this palette for a party, like the Holidays, the fourth of July or on summer holiday. I love them!
